Gambana KYC Guide: Verify Your Account

Under UK rules you must be verified before you can deposit or play. This guide explains what Gambana checks, which documents it accepts, and how to get them approved first time.

KYC (“know your customer”) is the identity check every UK-licensed casino must run. At Gambana it usually takes a few seconds at sign-up. When it does not, a clear set of documents will normally be reviewed within 24 hours.

This guide covers the checks, the documents and the mistakes that most often slow players down.

Why Gambana verifies you

UK Gambling Commission rules require operators to confirm your age and identity before you can deposit or play, not just when you withdraw. The checks are there to:

  • Keep under-18s out of gambling
  • Prevent fraud and identity theft
  • Meet anti-money-laundering law
  • Support affordability and safer gambling duties

Any UK-licensed operator has to run these checks. Gambana’s licence details are shown in the footer of its website.

What is checked automatically

When you register, Gambana runs electronic checks against credit reference and public databases using your name, date of birth and address. For most UK residents these checks pass straight away and no documents are needed at that stage.

Automatic checks are more likely to fail if you have:

  • Recently moved house
  • Changed your name
  • Entered details differently from your bank records (for example “Flat 2” in one place and “2” in another)
  • A thin UK credit file, which is common for younger players and recent arrivals

If the check fails, you will be asked to upload documents.

Documents Gambana accepts

DocumentAccepted examplesTips
Photo IDPassport, UK or EU driving licence, national ID cardMust be valid and in date. Upload both sides of a card.
Proof of addressUtility bill, bank statement, council tax statementDated within the last 3 months. Name and address must match your account.
Proof of payment methodPhoto of your debit card, or a screenshot of your e-wallet account pageCover the middle digits of the card number. Show the first 6 and last 4 digits and your name. Cover the CVV.
Source of funds (if requested)Recent payslips, bank statements, tax documents, savings or inheritance recordsSend complete pages. Edited or cropped statements can be rejected.

Mobile phone bills and screenshots of online statements may or may not be accepted. If in doubt, ask support before uploading.

How to upload your documents

  1. Log in and open My Account, then Verification or Documents.
  2. Choose the document type you are uploading.
  3. Take a photo or select a file (JPG, PNG or PDF are the common formats).
  4. Upload each document separately under the correct category.
  5. Wait for the confirmation message. The status will show as pending while it is reviewed.
  6. Check your email in case Gambana asks for a clearer copy or an extra document.

Photo tips that avoid rejections

  • Show all four corners. A cropped edge is the most common rejection reason.
  • Avoid glare. Use daylight or diffuse light, not a direct flash on plastic cards.
  • Keep it in focus. All text, including small print and dates, must be readable.
  • Check the expiry date. Expired ID will be rejected.
  • Use the original document. Do not upload photocopies, scans of photos, or edited images.
  • Use one document per image unless both sides are asked for together.

Proof of payment method

Because withdrawals return to your deposit method where possible, Gambana may ask you to show that a card or e-wallet belongs to you.

  • Debit card: photograph the front with the middle eight digits covered. Your name and the last four digits should be visible. Never send the CVV.
  • E-wallets (PayPal, Skrill, Neteller): a screenshot of the account page showing your name and the account email or ID.
  • Open banking or bank transfer: a recent statement showing your name and account number.

Only Visa and Mastercard debit cards are accepted. Credit cards cannot be used for gambling in the UK.

Source of funds and affordability checks

Higher deposits, larger withdrawals or a sudden change in how much you play can trigger extra checks. Gambana may ask for:

  • Recent payslips
  • Bank statements covering the last one to three months
  • Evidence of other income or savings

These checks are required under UK rules and are not an accusation. Gambana must be able to show that your gambling is affordable and that the money is legitimate. Withdrawals may be held until the review is finished. VIP status does not skip these checks.

Data security

Documents are uploaded over an encrypted connection and used only for verification and regulatory purposes. UK data protection law limits how long they are kept and who can see them. Never send documents through social media or to anyone who contacts you claiming to be from Gambana. Use the upload area in your account or the official support channels only. Our privacy policy explains how this guide site handles data.

Gambling is for adults aged 18+ only. If verification or affordability questions make you reconsider how much you play, our responsible gambling page lists limits and free support.

FAQ

Do I need to verify before I can play at Gambana?

Yes. UK rules require age and identity verification before you deposit or play. For most players this happens automatically at sign-up.

How long does Gambana take to check documents?

Manual reviews are usually completed within 24 hours. Clear, in-date documents with all four corners visible are approved fastest.

Why does Gambana want a photo of my debit card?

It confirms that the card is yours, so withdrawals can be sent back to it safely. Cover the middle digits and never share the CVV.

Can I withdraw while verification is pending?

No. Withdrawals are held until KYC and any source-of-funds checks are complete. Our support guide covers other reasons a withdrawal may be held.
